The Story

The SAM Centre is home to Stampede Sensations, a 270-degree multimedia experience that wraps visitors in the energy, sound, and history of the Calgary Stampede. Working with recognized GSM Project, a Montreal-based exhibition design firm with an international portfolio spanning projects like Star Wars Identities and the National Museum of Singapore, we supported the primary exhibition hall with sound design, mixing, and integration across a 21-channel system.

The space uses projection mapping, synchronized lighting, and a shaker floor with dozens of transducers and two subwoofers that translate the impact of hooves and the mother drum directly into the body.

Sound isn't accompaniment here. It's structural. Designed to be powerful and present, enveloping the listener in the energy of the Stampede through the stories of the people who make it what it is.
