The Story

Oscura is a year-long outdoor public art installation by Anna Binta Diallo, reimagining Stewart Hall Park in Pointe-Claire as an ethereal space where cosmic mysteries unfold through silhouettes, light, and shadow.

The soundscape was composed and designed to be heard from the moon's perspective, a bilingual meditation on light, darkness, and the passage of time. Outdoor sound over the course of a full year means designing for every condition: summer heat, autumn wind, winter silence, spring rain. The work had to hold its intention across all of it.

Working closely with Anna's visual and mythological world, the sound becomes the invisible architecture of the space, the thing that tells you where you are before your eyes adjust to the dark.
